How to wear a 13x4 Lace Front Wig
•Posted on April 13 2023
13x4 lace front wig is a unit composed of synthetic or human hair. The hair was sewn on a piece of lace to make it look like it grew from the scalp. Many people think that only hairdressers can wear lace wigs to make them look natural, but we know it is possible to wear wigs at home. To learn the right techniques to melt your lace and kill your baby's hair, continue reading how to wear a lace front wig. Of course, you can also check out our other article on how to put on a lace front wig for the first time.
Step 1: prepare a lace wig
Test your wig for fit
You need to make sure your wig fits, and once tested for fit, brush out any tangles. By brushing the wig, the shape in the package and wig box can be removed. For long wigs, please tie your hair into a ponytail; For shorter wigs, use hairpins to secure the edges and back of the wig. You are performing these steps to ensure that the edges of your wig are not glued when worn.
Trim lace
If the wig you purchased has been trimmed, you can skip this step. However, if you are wearing a human lace front wig and the company you purchased has not trimmed it, you need to trim the lace yourself. Put the wig on your head and adjust it as needed. Remember that lace is fragile, so be fragile when trimming lace. Please leave some space when trimming lace. Direct hair cutting will lead to hair loss. No one wants bald lace!
Step 2 - prepare your hair
For women who want to know how to lace their long hair, try tying your hair into a ponytail and wrapping it around your head into a bun. Now, fix the bun with your hairpin. Remember to make it as flat as possible.
For short to medium length hair, there are two options when preparing hair. One option is to braid your hair. Straight back corn ridge is most suitable. The second option is to use hair gel or hair gel to shape the hair into a flat shape.
Step 3 - put on your hat
There are many choices when choosing a wig cap, but we recommend that you choose a softer and thinner wig cap. The main purpose of the wig cap is to press the hair down while folding the hair to flatten the natural hair. The wig cap also helps to keep the wig in place and avoid friction.
Step 4 - protect the skin
This is an important step in wearing a lace wig. You can wipe it with soap and water, mild detergent, or alcohol. This will remove grease from the hairline, which will reduce the effectiveness of hair gel or adhesive, resulting in the wig sliding or lifting from the head.
After drying, use scalp to protect sprays or essence, and make them dry before 100%. Scalp protection just protects your skin from chemicals such as glue, adhesive or wig tape.
Step 5 - apply glue or wig tape
Before using any product, please make sure you have a skin test in a small area.
Many questions revolve around how to use glue on the front of lace? We know that this seems to be a difficult task. What if I glue the front of the lace wrong? Or, if I misplace the front of the lace, can it be removed without tearing the front of the lace? For all valid problems, we ensure that you follow these tips and there will be no such problems.
When liquid adhesive or glue is used, it needs to be applied with a brush. Use your brush to apply glue to the hairline, and then stick the wig to the hairline. Then blow dry for a few seconds until you can feel the glue sticky to the touch. This step is not necessary when using adhesive.
For women who want to know how to put it on the front of non glue lace, there are other options. You can also use tape, G2B gel or hair gel.
When you wear a wig, try cutting the tape into eight or ten pieces. This should be enough to completely cover your hairline. The number will be adjusted according to the size of your head. Make sure that the gap in your work is equal to the defective hairline.
The sticky side should be evenly pressed against the skin on the hairline.
After finishing, remove the foam on the adhesive tape and expose the sticky part of the adhesive tape.
Step 6 - place and secure the wig
Now we come to the toughest part of applying lace wigs.
1. Carefully remove the device from the package and adjust the wig to look like your hairline.
2. Remember to adjust the back of your wig to make sure it hangs naturally.
3. Remember to make sure your lace and wig are in the place you want. It's difficult to remove the lace and start over.
4. Press the lace into the wig tape, glue or adhesive along the hairline, and place the wig tape, glue or adhesive on the hairline. We recommend that you use a rat tail comb to press down on the frontal lobe.
5. Blow dry in the lower position to ensure that it is completely fixed, and fix it with a scarf.
6. (optional) if you love your baby's hair, use toothbrushes and some gel. If your hair is too long, cut it to the length you want with a razor or scissors.
